Drone Music for Meditation

A night for contemplation and harmonization, featuring some of our favorite drone musicians of NEOH. Please bring a cushion, blanket, yoga mat, etc for sitting or laying down. Keep in mind that our floor is concrete. Chairs are also an option if that is more comfortable for you. We'll make sure it's warm and cozy in the venue.

Hot tea and light snacks will be provided.

Jeremy Bible
Jeremy Bible is an American interdisciplinary artist focused on the intersection of sound and light. Taking cues from his background in field recording and photography, his work occupies a shared space between multi-channel audio-visual installation and compositional practice. Utilizing acousmatic sonic diffusion techniques, Bible strives to construct an environmental experience that is both profoundly sensory and beautifully surreal.

Machine Listener
A cornerstone of the NEOH experimental music scene, Machine Listener is one of the many projects of Matthew Gallagher. While Gallagher known best by some as a visual artist, they are also a sculptor of sounds. Last sighted in Akron ripping out wild sounds in an abandoned church down the street from us, we're excited to have them at Hive Mind. Their most recent release, Endless Coil, may hint at what you'll be hearing at this event.

Scare Words
Scare Words is the audiovisual project (sometimes only audio or only video) of Pete Bach. Currently residing in Akron, Bach creates his art using digital media. Dense soundscapes are accompanied by visual abstractions, inspired by our tumultuous political climate. For this event, he will be focusing his efforts into his deep interest in the relationships between physical science and Buddhism.
